Punya account e-mail di Google! ? punya akses internet di rumah atau di kantor? males buka web browser buat cek e-mail google ? Kalo iya, gunain aja program aplikasi e-mail client kayak Outlook express atau mozilla Thunderbird. Mau Tau caranya ? Let’s start…

1. Bukalah web browser dan arahkan ke alamat www.gmail.com
2. Masukkan ID dan Pass accout gmail kita
3. Di menu utama gmail, klik pilihan "settings"
4. Akan muncul pengaturan-pengaturan pada Gmail. Pilih yang " Forwarding and POP/IMAP "
5. Jika kita akan mendownload dengan menggunakan akses POP (Post Office Protocol) maka klik pada bagian POP Download dan klik "Enable POP for all mail (even mail that’s already been downloaded)". Jika kita akan mendownload dengan menggunakan akses IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) maka pada bagian IMAP Access, klik "enable IMAP"
6. Klik tombol " Save Changes "
7. Pengaturan di Gmail selesai, sekarang buka e-mail client yang akan digunakan untuk mendownload message dari gmail. Dalam contoh ini menggunakan Outlook Express
8. Buka aplikasi Outlook Express
9. Klik pada menu Tools – Accounts
10. Akan muncul jendela baru yang terdiri dari All, Mail, News, Directory Service. Pilih Mail
11. Klik tombol Add dan pilih Mail
12. Akan muncul jendela baru berupa wizard dimana kita harus mengisikan data diri kita sendiri. ikuti saja dan isi dengan benar. Catatan : pada bagian username ketikkan persis seperti kita mengisikan ID kita di Gmail seperti dickyyusufherawan@gmail.com
13. Jika ID dan pass sudah diisikan dengan benar, maka pada pilihan mail, klik tombol properties
14. Atur pada tab Servers, klik pada pilihan Outgoing Mail server yaitu "My Server Requires Authentification"
15. Klik tab Advanced, pada bagian Server Port Number isikan pada bagian Outgoing Mail Server dengan port 465 dan klik pada pilihan "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" untuk Outgoing dan Incoming Mail Server.
16. Jika sudah selesai, klik Apply dan OK.
17. Test untuk mendownload e-mail dengan mengklik icon "Send /Recv"
18. Masukkan password apabila diminta.
